Always Live #LikeAGirl Day to Debut at 2019 Walmart NW Arkansas Championship Presented by P&G

Always Live #LikeAGirl Day will debut on Saturday, June 29 at Pinnacle Country Club as part of the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G. Hosted in partnership with Procter & Gamble, the celebration invites all young girls and families from the community to attend the golf tournament on Saturday to honor the talented female athletes of the LPGA Tour. The special day aims to inspire girls of all ages to dream big through exposure and interaction with the role models of the LPGA Tour.

“One of the core missions of Always and P&G is to build confidence in young girls and empower them to follow their dreams,” said Mindy Sherwood, Vice President, Procter & Gamble Walmart Global Customer Team. “The women of the LPGA Tour are incredible examples of confidence, determination and resiliency, and we’re excited to expose young girls in the community to these important values through Always Live #LikeAGirl Day.”

Young girls in attendance at the tournament on Saturday will receive a scavenger hunt passport and autograph book upon admission. The scavenger hunt will conclude in the Walmart and Always Live #LikeAGirl STEAM Center, where children can participate in confidence-building activities and redeem their passport for a special gift. In addition, LPGA professionals will be encouraged to engage with young girls during the day and will have commemorative items to distribute to young fans throughout the golf course.

“One of the driving forces behind #NWAChampionship Week for the past 13 years has been to make a positive impact in the community, and this year is certainly no exception,” stated Tournament Director, Annye DeGrand. “We’re proud to partner with P&G on this meaningful initiative to inspire young girls to follow their dreams, whether they’re breaking barriers on the golf course or in STEAM-related fields.”

Tickets for the #NWAChampionship are available online at www.NWAChampionship.com.  All children 17 years of age and under receive free admission to the tournament on Always Live #LikeAGirl Day and throughout #NWAChampionship Week with a ticketed adult.
