Hootie & The Blowfish with Barenaked Ladies coming to the Walmart AMP July 24, 2019

Hootie & The Blowfish with special guest Barenaked Ladies will perform at the Walmart AMP July 24, 2019 as part of their Group Therapy Tour. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. with music starting at 7:30 p.m.

Winner of two Grammy® Awards for Best New Artist and Best Pop Performance by a Group in 1996, Hootie and The Blowfish began as a group of college freshman playing gigs at local bars and college parties.

As buzz about the group spread, Hootie and The Blowfish was signed by Atlantic Records and later that year they released their double platinum album, Cracked Rear View. With the rich, bluesy vocals of Darius Rucker and gleeful harmonies of guitarist Mark Bryan, bassist Dean Felber and drummer Jim "Soni" Sonefeld, Hootie & the Blowfish sold over 25 million records worldwide after their infectious melodies hit the airwaves in 1994 with hits such as "Hold My Hand," "Let Her Cry" and "Only Wanna Be With You."

Canadian rock band Barenaked Ladies has evolved over their thirty-year career. Known for mixing an array of styles including pop, rock, hip hop and rap in their live performances, the group performs with comedic banter and free-style rapping between songs. Barenaked Ladies has won numerous Juno Awards and been nominated for two Grammys. Having sold over 15 million records, Barenaked Ladies well known singles include “One Week,” “It’s All Been Done,” “Odds Are” and “Pinch Me.”
