The First Tee of Northwest Arkansas Announces New Executive Director

Local nonprofit, The First Tee of Northwest Arkansas, has announced the hiring of Randy Hurban to Executive Director. Hurban brings more than 33 years of business experience to the organization with a broad range of experience in sales, marketing, recruiting, operations, talent development and executive leadership for Georgia Pacific, Johnson & Johnson, Novartis and IQVIA.

“We’re very fortunate someone with Randy’s broad business experiences was available and interested. His passion for young people and The First Tee came through during the interview process. We quickly felt comfortable with Randy and his ability to lead the organization into the future. Because of that, we were able to move fast and plan for a seamless transition,” said Scott Bolle, Chair of The First Tee of Northwest Arkansas hiring committee.

Hurban decided ten years ago to put his corporate experiences to work as an entrepreneur in NWA. One of his businesses, Stepping Stone Children's Academy, positively impacted more than 500 children and their families. Most recently, as the CEO and Co-Owner of Moxy Ox, he has helped the organization transition from an early phase startup to a prosperous business.

“I am extremely passionate about developing people of all ages,” says Hurban. “A fundamental lesson that The First Tee program focuses on is integrity, and I always enjoy catching people doing the right things when no one is looking. I look forward to supporting the mission of this organization and meeting with our corporate sponsors to continue to work together to reach even more kids in Northwest Arkansas and take this program to the next level.”

Former executive director, Elizabeth Prenger, announced her resignation in April to pursue an opportunity with another local nonprofit.
