President of Rogers Experimental House Named to City of Rogers Public Art Commission

Rogers artist and museum professional Dayton Castleman was appointed to the Rogers Public Art Commission and sworn in by Mayor Greg Hines during the City Council meeting on April 9, 2019. Dayton brings more than 25 years of education and professional work in the art and museum world to service on the commission, including specific experience with art in the public sphere, focusing on the ways that public art shapes and transforms communities, and enhances encounters of place and history for both residents and visitors.

Dayton and his family moved to northwest Arkansas from Chicago in 2012, and to downtown Rogers in 2015. He served on the inaugural Bentonville Public Art Advisory Committee, and is a co-founder of the community art incubator Rogers Experimental House. He currently manages the art museum at 21c Museum Hotel in Bentonville, and is working on a large scale installation near downtown Rogers as part of the regional Artists 360 grant program.
