Introduce Children to Theater with a Story They Know and Love

Families have the opportunity to experience Emily Brown and the Thing twice – first during a story time at the Fayetteville Public Library on Saturday, March 23 and again live on stage at Walton Arts Center Friday, May 10 at 6:30 p.m.

Story Time with WAC will be just one of the activities at the Fayetteville Public Library’s Super Saturday March 23 at 10:30 a.m. Families can read along to Emily Brown and the Thing by Cressida Cowell and Neal Layton, led by a Walton Arts Center staff member. Afterwards participants will get a fun craft that they can take home.

“Super Saturday’s are a great way for families to enjoy spending time together at the library. Kids will love getting to create their own “things” after the story,” said Rachel Smith, youth librarian at the Fayetteville Public Library. “We love it when we’re able to support local theater and the arts through library programs. We always enjoying partnering with the Walton Arts Center, and appreciate their support in providing quality arts education programming to our community.”

Then next month, families can watch the book come to life on stage as Emily Brown and her old grey rabbit, Stanley, hear a Thing crying outside their window and set off on an incredible adventure. Emily Brown and the Thing, part of the Mattel Kid’s Series, is recommended for ages 3 and older.
