The Smashing Pumpkins and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds Bring Their Summer Tour to the Walmart AMP

The Smashing Pumpkins and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds announced that they will be hitting the road together along with AFI for a summer tour that is coming to the Walmart AMP on Friday, Aug. 23 as part of the Cox Concert Series. Tickets go on sale to the public Friday, March 8 at 10 a.m.

Tickets prices range from $35 to $129.50 plus fees and can be purchased by calling 479.443.5600 or by visiting www.amptickets.com.  In-person purchases can be made at the Walmart AMP Box Office in Rogers from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on March 8 or at the Walton Arts Center Box Office in Fayetteville Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and Saturday, noon until 4 p.m.

Formed in Chicago, Ill. in 1988, The Smashing Pumpkins released their heralded debut album Gish in 1991 and found mainstream success with 1993's four-time multi-platinum Siamese Dream and 1995's ten-time multi-platinum Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. With more than 30 million albums sold to date, the two-time Grammy®, MTV Video Music Award and American Music Award-winning band remains one of the most influential alternative rock bands in the world.

The group toured their monumental Shiny And Oh So Bright Tour in 2018, which sold over 300,000 tickets across North America. The tour was the band’s first in nearly two decades to feature Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin and James Iha, alongside Jeff Schroeder, bassist Jack Bates and keyboardist Katie Cole.

Critics were quick to praise the tour as “a massive gift to their fans” (Uproxx), “a welcome reminder of why those early albums resonated in the first place” (SPIN), and “an unforgettably rewarding and often spectacular odyssey” (Forbes).

Noel Gallagher has been one of the United Kingdom’s most loved and successful songwriters for over a quarter of a century. His latest album Who Built the Moon? debuted at No. 1 in the UK and was certified gold in less than two weeks of its release and marked his 10th consecutive chart-topping studio album in the UK — a feat no other artist has achieved.

Gallagher is the former lead guitarist and principal songwriter of Oasis, the three time Grammy-nominated UK rock band. After leaving Oasis, Gallagher successfully launched his solo career as Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds with a self-titled album in 2011 which sold 2.5 million albums worldwide.

AFI is touring in support of critically acclaimed EP The Missing Man. Since the release of 1995’s debut album Answer That and Stay Fashionable, AFI has written and recorded five top ten hit singles, including “Miss Murder,” and “Girl’s Not Grey," which hit No. 1 on The Billboard 200 with the stunning platinum-certified Decemberunderground, garnered worldwide critical acclaim and amassed a fiercely loyal global following.
