Walmart NW Arkansas Championship Presented by P&G Announces Week-long Schedule of Community-driven Events

The Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G will return June 24-30 to Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers, Ark., with 144 of the best female golfers in the world competing for a $2 million purse. The week-long schedule of community events will also feature a three-night food festival, a charitable 5k race and a variety of volunteer opportunities.

The #NWAChampionship will see popular fan attractions return in 2019, with activities for golf spectators, families and friends to enjoy. The Gatorade Loudest Hole on Tour (No. 17), Hub479 and Hallmark Autograph Alley will each be free and open to the public throughout tournament week. First introduced in 2018, the Walmart and Always Live #LikeAGirl STEAM Center will once again provide children with engaging, hands-on experiences in the areas of science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics onsite at the tournament.

BITE NW Arkansas, #NWAChampionship Week’s three-night food festival, will return June 26-28 to 8th Street Market in Downtown Bentonville. Each night will feature a unique atmosphere, experiences and culinary offerings for attendees to enjoy. New in 2019, the festival will expand to the north and west sides of the venue, encompassing the entire 8th Street Market footprint. “We’re excited to expand BITE NW Arkansas throughout the 8th Street Market property to showcase even more restaurants and tenants that make up the vibrant NW Arkansas culinary scene,” stated Event Chairman, Jay Allen. “This growth will allow us to continue to celebrate the best of the region, while also ensuring a positive experience for all event attendees.”

The 5k @ the LPGA benefiting Mercy will return as part of the week’s schedule of family-friendly events on Saturday, June 29. As in previous years, the event will feature a unique race route that winds through the championship golf course and Pinnacle Country Club community. Local companies are invited to participate in the corporate challenge, competing for the title of Fittest and Fastest Office in NW Arkansas.

Tournament officials are seeking over 750 volunteers from the community to support the events throughout #NWAChampionship Week. Volunteers will have the opportunity to serve a variety of roles on over 20 different committees including marshals, scorers and standard bearers.

Ticket sales for #NWAChampionship Week events as well as volunteer registration will begin on March 1. Visit www.NWAChampionship.com to stay up to date with events news and information.
