Registration Now Open for 12th Annual Paint the Park Pink |

The Susan G. Komen Ozark Affiliate announced Aug. 1 that registration for the 12th Annual Paint the Park Pink is now open. “We are so excited to celebrate the 12th year of Paint the Park Pink,” said Lauren Marquette, Executive Director of the Ozark affiliate. “Our mission is to save lives by meeting the most critical needs in our communities and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer. The Paint the Park Pink event raises funds and awareness to help local women in the River Valley who are fighting breast cancer.” Since 2000, the Ozark Affiliate has provided over $1.8 million for breast health services in Crawford and Sebastian Counties in the River Valley. This is the 12th year the walk will be held in Fort Smith. On October 6, 2018 thousands of people will come together to celebrate, honor and remember the strong women and men who fight this disease. 75% of net proceeds is invested in our local community and provides education, screening and treatment support services to women, men and families in the 10 counties served by Komen Ozark. 25% of the net walk proceeds will be invested in breast cancer research through the Susan G. Komen is dedicated to combating breast cancer at every front. Since the inception in 1998, the Ozark Affiliate has awarded $11 million to local organizations that provide breast health education and breast cancer screening and treatment programs for medically underserved women. In addition, $3.75 million has been invested in the Komen National’s Research and Awards program in search of finding the cures. The Komen Ozark Affiliate’s service area covers Benton, Boone, Carroll, Crawford, Madison, Newton, Sebastian, and Washington Counties in Arkansas and Stone and Taney Counties in Missouri.
