Dick Barclay named 2018 Dick Daniel Distinguished Citizen Award Winner by Rogers Noon Rotary Club

Rogers Rotary will recognize Dick Barclay with the Dick Daniel Distinguished Citizen Award. The Dick Daniel Distinguished Citizen Award recognizes and honors individuals who strive toward the highest level of community involvement, influence, and dedication of time and energies toward making the community a better place to live.

Distinguished Citizen nominees must meet each of these three specific criteria: 1. Demonstrated excellence, creativity and initiative in improving the community. 2. Provided valuable service by devoting time and energy to improving the quality of life for others in the community. 3. Assisted others in developing and utilizing their full leadership potential in the community.

Dick Barclay more than meets the criteria for the award and Rogers Rotary club is excited to recognize him as the outstanding leader that he is. Mr. Barclay is a long-time Rogers resident, where he worked as a CPA and raised his three, now grown children, with his wife Jan. He is a CPA by profession and worked in private practice at Beall Barclay & Company. In 1996, under the leadership of Governor Huckabee, he served as the State of Arkansas’ Chief Fiscal Office and the Director of the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration. Throughout his career, he was involved in many community activities and served as an elected official both in the Rogers City Council and the Arkansas House of Representatives. Mr. Barclay has been involved as a leader in the Rogers Parks Commission, the Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce, as well as many other local boards and organizations.

Dick Barclay will be recognized at the Fourth Annual Dick Daniel Distinguished Award Luncheon on August 7, 2018, held at Embassy Suites in Rogers. Rogers Rotary Foundation will use proceeds from the event to provide funding for making improvements to the Frisco Park in Rogers.
