Walmart Women’s Empowerment Summit to debut at 2018 NWA Championship

The Walmart Women’s Empowerment Summit presented by Kimberly-Clark will debut on Thursday, June 21 at the John Q. Hammons Center in Rogers as part of #NWAChampionship Week in Northwest Arkansas. The event, formerly known as the Women’s Day at the LPGA, has been expanded and rebranded to include multiple speakers and rich content around the theme “Sparking Positive Change Together.” The Summit will continue to be hosted by the Network of Executive Women (NEW) Northwest Arkansas Chapter.

“Rebranding the event to the Walmart Women’s Empowerment Summit presented by Kimberly-Clark allows us to introduce a more robust and meaningful event for women business leaders in our community,” said Jody Pinson, VP of Merchandising at Walmart and Advisory Board Member of NEW Northwest Arkansas. “We look forward to continuing to use LPGA week as the backdrop of our women’s networking event and sparking positive change together.”

The Summit will take place from 7:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 21. The morning is slated to include a keynote speaker, a discussion panel and four talks given by experienced leaders, including former Walmart executive Celia Swanson and Chief Supply Chain Officer of Kimberly-Clark Sandra MacQuillan. Jacqui Canney, executive vice president of the Global People Division for Walmart, is also slated to speak. Topics will cover leading with courage, coaching others and driving change. The full lineup of speakers and panelists is expected to be announced prior to the event.

Tickets for the Walmart Women’s Empowerment Summit will be available through NEW online at www.newonline.org.  For more information about the Summit or the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G, visit www.NWAChampionship.com.
