Highlands Oncology Group Plans Second Washington County Location in Springdale |
|
Highlands Oncology Group, PA, (HOG) is excited to announce they are under contract on an 8-acre piece of land in Springdale. The property is located in the Parkway Plaza development off the Don Tyson exit and will be the future building site of their second Washington county location in Northwest Arkansas. Highlands first opened its doors in 1996 with three medical oncologists, Doctors J. Thaddeus Beck, Daniel S. Bradford, and Malcolm L. Hayward. They established a presence in the North Hills Medical Park in 2001. The continued growth in Northwest Arkansas and desire to maintain a presence in the medical park has led to their decision to build in Springdale. They will provide ancillary services at both Washington County locations and are evaluating other services that will be at the Parkway location. Highlands expects to begin construction in the fall of 2018 with an expected completion date in 2020. Once this location is complete there are plans to remodel the North Hills facility. Highlands will continue to provide comprehensive cancer care to the Northwest Arkansas community so patients can receive the best treatment for their individual cancer diagnosis. “Patients no longer have to leave their home and their loved-ones to receive the highest quality of cancer care, we have it right here in Northwest Arkansas.” (Courtney Trevillion, Director of Marketing). A practice that started with 24 employees has now grown to over 350 employees, including 16 physicians and a wide array of services provided in a comprehensive cancer center model. “The announcement of expansion in Washington County couldn’t come soon enough”, said Kathey Rhoads, Chief Operating Officer for HOG, “we have long ago outgrown our space at the North Hills clinic. The second location will also allow for future growth as the demand for cancer care services continues.”
