NWACC Wins National Award for Internal Fundraising Campaign

NorthWest Arkansas Community College received a gold Paragon award for its internal fundraising campaign known as “iGive.” The award was presented March 18 at the annual conference of the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations.

The 2017 iGive fundraising campaign, which had a superhero theme, was executed in the fall of 2017 and raised a record $34,301. Faculty participation was 56 percent, and staff participation was 55 percent, up from 42 percent and 38 percent, respectively, in 2016.

Karen O’Donohoe, planned giving officer for the NWACC Foundation, coordinated the drive and worked with a committee of volunteers to host activities at all NWACC locations. Daniel Yeager, an alumnus of NWACC who is now digital marketing specialist for the college, created the graphics and videos supporting the campaign.

“We’re pleased to see the work and volunteer efforts of our faculty and staff recognized in this significant way,” O’Donohoe said. “The iGive campaign demonstrates to our stakeholders that our faculty, staff and students are willing to invest their time and money to support our community college. We appreciate their generosity immensely, and we know that through their donations, the college is able to provide more scholarships and support and to significantly impact the lives of our students.”

NorthWest Arkansas Community College is a smart choice for students wanting to pursue quality higher education. As an accredited institution through The Higher Learning Commission, NWACC is a public two-year institution that seeks to empower lives, inspire learning and strengthen community through accessible, affordable quality education.
