Milken Institute Ranks Northwest Arkansas as a Top 25 Best-Performing Area

The 2017 Milken Institute ranking lists Northwest Arkansas as the 25th best-performing city in the U.S. NWA, defined as the Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers AR-MO metro area, ranked 8th overall in short term job growth and 12th overall in long-term wage growth. The institute ranks U.S. metropolitan areas by how well they are creating and sustaining jobs and economic growth. The components include jobs, wage and salary, and technological growth. In most years, these give a good indication of the underlying structural performance of regional economics.

“This is a big honor for the region,” said Raymond Burns, President/CEO of the Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce. “It speaks to the quality of Northwest Arkansas as we continue to grow our region through job creation and wage growth at a high rate. This is truly a Northwest Arkansas award as each community contributes to making this area a great place to live, work, and play.”

Provo-Orem, Utah was named the best-performing city. View the full ranking here.
