NPR Humorist and Bestselling Author, David Sedaris, Returns to Walton Arts Center |

David Sedaris, one of America’s pre-eminent humor writers, will kick-off Walton Arts Center’s 2017-18 LOL@WAC Series. With great skill, sardonic wit and incisive critiques, Sedaris will slice through cultural euphemisms and political correctness on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 7 pm. Sedaris’ many works became immediate bestsellers including Barrel Fever and Holidays on Ice, as well as several collections of personal essays including Naked, Me Talk Pretty One Day, Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim, When You Are Engulfed in Flames. Sedaris also is the author of The New York Times-bestselling collection of fables entitled Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary (with illustrations by Ian Falconer). He was also the editor of Children Playing Before a Statue of Hercules: An Anthology of Outstanding Stories. There are over ten million copies of his books in print, and they have been translated into 25 languages. The audio version of his latest book, Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls, was nominated for a Grammy Award® for best spoken word album. His written pieces regularly appear in The New Yorker, have twice been included in “The Best American Essays” and his original radio pieces are regularly heard on the public radio show This American Life. Sedaris last performed at Walton Arts Center during the 2014-15 season.
