Perimeter Maintenance Underway on Beaver Lake

The Army Corps of Engineers is advising landowners adjacent to public lands on Beaver Lake that work crews are currently conducting perimeter maintenance on the west side of Beaver Lake at Esculapia Hollow, working north towards the Cedar Creek area.

The work will be ongoing for the next six months. Landowners between Esculapia Hollow and Cedar Creek will likely see contractors working along the public land's perimeter to their property.

Devereux and Associates, LLC., of Bella Vista, Ark. will conduct the work under contract with the Corps. All workers and vehicles will have identification as a Corps contractor.

The firm is re-marking the existing Corps perimeter. Work includes exposing survey monuments, clearing brush along the perimeter on the public land side, replacing and painting perimeter posts, and painting trees in the vicinity of the perimeter to serve as reference markers to the perimeter. Missing survey monuments will be reestablished at a later date by Corps land surveyors.

Excessive mowing, unauthorized paths and tree cutting, personal property stored on public land and structures such as sheds, houses and decks will be documented.

The Corps manages Beaver Lake and the surrounding public lands to meet the needs of human and natural communities for present and future generations.
