Metro Appliances & More
recently relocated from Springdale to a 130,000-square-foot building along Interstate 49 in Lowell.

The new location at 801 Metro Place opened May 8 after the Tulsa-based appliance company invested $9 million on nearly 6 acres northwest of I-49 and Arkansas Highway 264.

The new building is more than twice the size of the former location and includes a 60,000-square-foot showroom for about 50 brands of appliances, including washers, dryers, ranges, refrigerators, dishwashers, ice machines and wine coolers, according to a news release. “The appliances offer the newest technology available and are displayed in beautifully designed kitchens.”

The new store also has 10,000 square feet dedicated to outdoor items, such as grills, outdoor appliances and patio furniture. A patio allows the store to host events and live grilling demonstrations.

Appliances, such as a 60-inch dual fuel Thermador range, are hooked up for cooking demonstrations and events, according to the company. “Likewise, the Electrolux room features a 6-foot interactive screen which allows shoppers to view more details on all products offered by Electrolux/Frigidaire. The store’s new Samsung area is the only room of its kind nationwide, hosting both kitchen and laundry appliances, lighting and a television — all 100% connected to and operated by a single tablet. The store also features the world’s first live pizza oven, made specifically for residential use that does not require ventilation.”

In June 2015, the company purchased the land for the store for $1.9 million. Eoff and Associates of Springfield, Mo., obtained a $2.03 million permit to build the store.

In 1974, Metro Appliances & More was established in a Tulsa garage, and the employee-owned company has since grown to nine stores in four states.
