Allison Wise Named 40/29 News Weekend Evening Anchor

Allison-WiseROGERS/FAYETTEVILLE/FORT SMITH, AR (March 23, 2017) – Hearst Television’s KHBS/KHOG-TV, 40/29, is pleased to announce Allison Wise as Weekend Evening News Anchor.

“Allison is such an asset to our newsroom”, said 40/29 News Director, Colleen Clement. “From breaking news to station events, Allison’s an extremely versatile journalist who’s immersed herself into the community,” added Clement.

Most recently Wise anchored 40/29 News Sunrise on weekdays, reporting breaking news and traffic reports. Formerly the station’s Digital Executive Producer, Wise managed all editorial content for 4029tv.com, social media and mobile platforms. In December 2011 Wise began her career with 40/29 News as Associate Producer. As a member of the 40/29 News team, Wise has earned two Associated Press and one Edward R. Murrow award.

On Saturdays, Wise will anchor 40/29 News at 6 & 10 p.m. on 40/29 and 40/29 News at 9:00 p.m. on sister station, The Arkansas CW. On Sundays Wise will anchor 40/29 News at 5:30 & 10 p.m. on 40/29 and 40/29 News at 9:00 p.m. on sister station, The Arkansas CW.

Wise graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Political Science in 2008 and will receive her Master's degree in Journalism from the University of Arkansas in May 2017. Prior to joining 40/29 News Wise worked in Washington D.C. and Birmingham, Alabama with Time Inc. Lifestyle Group. There she worked with Southern Living, Cooking Light and MyRecipes.com.

Wise has been in Northwest Arkansas for more than five years. She started her news career at 40/29, and has enjoyed covering stories both on-air and online in Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley. Allison enjoys live music, trying out new restaurants in the area and is a volunteer coach for Girls on the Run. She also teaches group fitness and dance classes.

Wise will assume her new role as weekend evening anchor on April 1st.
