The Village Writing School will host a three-part series educating writers about the art of writing for online audiences. The three classes will be taught by local blog and website copywriter Jamie Smith, owner of Jamie’s Notebook.

All three of the sessions for the series, Writing for the Internet, will be at The Village Writing School’s new Rogers location at the Center for Non-Profits at St. Mary’s (1200 W. Walnut).

The first class, Writing Successfully for Online Platforms, will be 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday, March 14. The session will discuss the difference between online vs traditional writing, as well as offer best practices and guidelines for writing for the Internet.

The second class, Writing Your Own Website, will be 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday, April 11. The session is for any small business owner who wants to learn best practices for their website’s content.

The third and final course, Simplifying the Art of Business Blogging, will be 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday, May 9. Simplifying the Art of Business Blogging is designed to teach the basics of blogging for a business. The information will help small business owners either be prepared to start a business blog or understand better what to look for in a blog written by a freelance writer.
